It’s the holidays, and if you’re flying this month, my suggestion is to think of the folks on your next flight who work hard and never get enough thanks — I’m talking about your flight crew.

Next time before you board your flight, stop at the airport newsstand and pick up a small gift — it could be a box of chocolates, perhaps a few best-selling paperbacks. Maybe even a $5 or $10 gift card.

And don’t forget a thank you note to the crew for getting you to your destination safely. It’s a small, and — I think — necessary gesture.

Too many of us worry about getting an upgrade, but this is now your time to hand a few out.
