The 2019 Skytrax’s World Airline Awards have been announced with some interesting surprises.

No U.S. airline made the top tier.

The awards went to airlines in the Gulf, in Asia and in Europe.

Qatar Airways takes the top spot for best airline, followed by Singapore Airlines and All Nippon Airways. And in this category, the reasons other than service are the same. These airlines have the best business class seat designs, size, technology and comfort.

Air France has the world’s best first class amenities, EVA Air has the world’s best airline cabin cleanliness and Emirates has the best in-flight entertainment.

And not that you choose a flight based on its airline food, but on All Nippon Airways flights, the cuisine comes from Michelin-star chefs.
