One metric is to figure out where the most money is spent at each destination by travelers.

Coming in at number one for international tourist receipts — the United States is at $214 billion.

What about number two? Spain is at $74 billion followed by France at $67 billion.

Are you going to the United Kingdom? You won’t be alone. Tourists spent $52 billion there last year.

Germany is almost tied with Australia — each with about $44 billion in visitor spend.

At the bottom of the list, at just $1 billion, that’s Sudan, Ukraine and Armenia.
