How Americans Travel Differently
In a recent study, 53% of global travelers said they were planning on taking more short trips this year.
Americans may be spending less time on vacation this summer than people from 10 other European nations and Brazil. Brazilians will take on average 2.2 weeks of vacation time this summer.
But Americans are expected to take 1.4 weeks.
The real difference is that the Brazilians will spend an average of $1,280 on their vacations, and Americans are expected to spend more than $2,300. Part of the reason for this is how we plan our vacations.
More and more Americans are citing Instagram ability as a major factor in choosing their vacation spots, which translates into less thoughtful planning and more spending.
