Do Vacations Reduce Stress?

There are all sorts of good reasons to go on vacation, and some folks say they do it to relieve stress.

But how much stress can be reduced?

Researchers at Syracuse University found that there is a direct link between going on vacation and lowering your risk for metabolic syndromes. And that includes high blood sugar, high blood pressure, and obesity.

The researchers asked participants to take about five vacations during a 12-month period along with about 14 paid vacation days.

And they discovered that as vacation time increased, the risk for those metabolic syndromes was reduced by as much as 25%.
