Consider this: three times during the last 10 years, bills were introduced in Congress that would have mandated a guaranteed vacation to American employees.

Not a single bill passed. But foreign countries have treated their citizens much better. Six countries mandate 30 days a year.

There are 98 countries that offer between 20 and 29 days.

In the U.S., the situation is even worse. Last year, employees actually left 705 million unused vacation days on the table.
