Places You Can Ski in the Summer

Just because winter is coming to a close doesn’t mean you have to put away your skis.

There are plenty of resorts that are planning to stay open after Memorial Day.

California’s Mammoth Mountain is staying open until at least July 4th. The slopes do close earlier in the summer season, but the slushier snow makes summer a good time for beginners to learn.

Mount Hood in Oregon is also an option for summer skiing. Though the lower mountain is closed, the upper mountain on the Palmer Glacier is historically open until Labor Day.

And overseas, there’s always Austria’s Hintertux glacier or Zermatt, Switzerland, where the 365-days-a-year ski season never ends.
