Reasons Flight Crews Can Remove You From Flights

So what can get you thrown off a plane?

Some reasons like being drunk or disorderly or disobeying a flight crew member are obvious.

But you can also be removed from a flight for offensive bodily odor. It’s actually part of the airline’s contract of carriage. What passes the small test is up to individual flight crews.

What about being overweight? If you are truly obese and the crew determines your size will impede the safe evacuation of the plane in an emergency, then you’re off the plane.

But be careful about fat shaming other passengers. On a recent Newark to Las Vegas flight, one passenger who yelled at other passengers for being too fat got herself removed from the flight. Remember it’s the flight crew that determines this…not you.
