Travel Tip: What the FAA Reauthorization Act Means To You

There’s good news for many airline passengers, now that the FAA Reauthorization Act has been passed and signed into law by President Trump.

First, under the new legislation, it prohibits airlines from bumping passengers once they’ve already boarded a plane. There shouldn’t be any more screaming dentists being hauled off planes.

It also requires airlines to refund passengers for services they paid for but that they didn’t receive. For example, if you paid $60 to check in two bags and the airline lost them, you’re now entitled to a refund–even if the airline finds your bags and later delivers them.

One other rule: it’s now illegal to store a dog or other animal in the overhead bin.
