Travel Tip: Green Efforts Around the World

Think about the iconic buildings, structures and monuments around the world.

You might be thinking of the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, the pyramids, historic buildings, cathedrals, mosques, and statues. More and more of these places are now going green. And you should ask about green efforts before visiting any of them.

In the United Kingdom, more than 5,500 churches have switched to renewable energy.

The Taj Mahal has announced it is going litter-free, especially concerning plastics.

The California Academy of Sciences is still the greenest museum, and now it is the world’s first LEED double platinum museum.

And for a real sense of irony, the Kentucky Coal Museum switched to solar power in 2017.
