Travel Tip: How To Distinguish Your Checked-In Suitcase

What’s one of the most annoying things that can happen to you during traveling? It’s when somebody accidentally takes home your checked-in bag from the luggage carousel. But instead of cursing human stupidity and wasting your time getting it back, there is one thing you should do the next time you travel: decorate your bag, especially if it’s black. So here are some ideas.

How about distinguishing your bag with your own face? For around $33, online gift shop Firebox will create a personalized cover for your suitcase with your face on it. All you need to do is send a high quality picture of your face (or the face you are putting on it).

For something less radical, consider stickers. You can buy those on Amazon for about $10. This is an especially good idea if you have little kids. Just hand them a bunch of travel-related educational stickers and let them have fun. And chances are, you will end up with a very unique product.

You can also customize your luggage with a paint spray. Hard-surfaced luggages are usually a better choice. Before painting, clean the bag, so it’s easier for the paint to adhere to the surface. For an average size suitcase you’ll need around two cans of paint, which should cost you under $5.

And if you need a last minute idea to distinguish your bag, duct tape and ribbons will do.

Or if you want to make it simple, just buy a colorful suitcase.
