According to the National Safety Council, there were 40,000 deadly vehicle accidents in the U.S. last year.

And now, one insurance company has ranked each state based on which has the worst drivers. The ranking is based on the Federal Highway Administration’s data on accidents, speeding tickets, citations, drunk driving and fatalities.

Coming in at number three as the state with the worst drivers is Utah. In 2017, state officials reported arresting almost 11,000 Utah drivers for operating a vehicle under the influence.

The number two state for bad drivers is Minnesota with a very large number of speeding tickets and fatalities.

So which state has the worst drivers in America? That would be California. And which city in the Golden State has the worst drivers? It’s not Los Angeles but Sacramento, the state’s capital.

As for the state with the best drivers, that would be Rhode Island.
