Travel Tip: How to Get Enough Sleep While Traveling

We all know the benefits of a great night sleep, but too many of us just don’t get enough sleep or sleep well when we travel.

But I have some good news, maybe.

A new Swedish study suggests that people, folks like me who burn the candle at both ends during the week, who average about four hours of sleep a night, can actually make up for it by sleeping in on Saturdays and Sundays.

The study looked at 40,000 adults for 13 years and found that those under the age of 65 who slept less than 5 hours a night had a 65% greater chance of death than those who slept an average of seven hours a night.

However–and this is where the good news comes in–those who slept in on weekends had no increased risk of death.

So, there’s hope for travelers like me, and perhaps for you as well. That is, of course, if your body allows you to sleep more than four hours a night.
