Locations in this article:  Hong Kong Shanghai, China Toronto, Canada
On the road, most of us know the busiest highways and which roads are the most crowded. But what about in the air?

The busiest air routes in the world have now been reported, and the results might surprise you. What’s the busiest in the world? The air route linking Singapore and the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. Last year, airlines made more than 30,000 flights between these two airports. That works out to 84 flights a day on that route. That’s more than 4 million people who flew the 65 minute flight.

Most of the busiest routes are in Asia such as Hong Kong to Taipei and Hong Kong to Shanghai. But one air route in North America is also a surprise. It’s New York to Toronto, which had 16,000 flights. And those numbers are most likely to go up.
