Camping has historically been a great barometer for the American economy. Low unemployment leads to discretionary spending for things like camping. Kampgrounds of America (KOA) reports sales for camping are at a record high for six years in a row. Are you thinking of going camping for Labor Day? You won’t be alone. The number of people camping that weekend is expected to be 20 percent higher than it was last year.
