Travel Tip: Practicing Eco-Friendly Habits When You’re on the Road

Do you want to be a responsible traveler?
It’s often the little things that count.
When you’re at a bar or restaurant ordering a drink, refuse the straw.
Bartenders and servers almost always put one in your glass, but you don’t need it.
Those wasted straws add up to a lot of plastic—which can often end up in the ocean.
The same goes for plastic water bottles—the ones you find in your hotel room or those you might purchase on the road.
Also, I never travel without bringing along a folding, reusable shopping bag.
Trust me, you’ll need one…and you won’t have to buy another.
When you’re dining out, especially at seafood restaurants, bring along an approved list of sustainable fish.
It’s easy to get this from the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s website. You’ll know what to order and what to avoid.
