What does a sale at your favorite store or mall have to do with a presidential executive order on immigration and visas?

As it turns out, a lot.

Beware the laws of unintended consequences.

There is a global buyer’s market on air travel due to a drop in international inbound travel to the U.S. from many markets.

The loss of visitors means a huge impact on the U.S. retail market, and another looming buyer’s market for Americans.

The 6.3 million lost visits to the U.S. represent a nearly $11 billion drop in visitor shopping.

Which cities will feel the pinch?

The major U.S. gateways for foreign travelers (Miami, San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles) will be hit the hardest. So look for some surprising early and late summer sales across the board.
