Travel Tip: Think You Had a Bad Flight? These Stories Might Top It

The next time you have a complaint about an airline—or a fellow passenger—consider the following recent cases.
A British jumbo jet from London’s Heathrow to San Francisco was delayed for several hours on the ground.
What was the cause? A mechanical delay? Weather? An unruly passenger? None of the above.
Someone noticed there was a mouse on board.
Can a single mouse force the grounding of a plane? Apparently.
When there’s one mouse, there could be more.
On top of that, the pilot was worried that the mouse would eat—not airline food, but airline wiring.
Then there’s the case of the Pakistan International Boeing 777 flight going between Karachi and Saudi Arabia, with 416 passengers on board.
One small problem: the plane only had 409 seats.
Think about this: seven passengers on that flight stood the entire way.
So the next time you’re flying, if you don’t see a rodent and you’re able to sit in that uncomfortable coach seat, you can always consider the alternative.
