The tragic earthquake in Nepal has had devastating effects that will be felt for years to come. Here’s how you can help.

In the immediate aftermath, first responders are the ones providing emergency relief, search and rescue, and medical treatment. So right now, the best way to help is by donating to those organizations on the ground.

Operation USA is an international relief agency that works with grassroots partners in the hardest-hit areas after natural disasters. They’re looking for monetary donations from individuals and supplies from corporate partners.

AmeriCares is an emergency response and health-care organization, and for every $1 donated, they provide $20 in aid.

UNICEF has put out a call for money to help nearly 1 million children who need assistance after the earthquake. They’re already airlifting emergency supplies like water and oral rehydration salts.

If you’re not sure about an organization’s credentials, check out CharityNavigator.com, which evaluates and rates non-profits based on their financial health, accountability, and transparency.

The time to help is now. So please…don’t wait.
