Travel Tip: How You Can Upload Videos Through These Apps & Sites

meerkatI get it, you can barely keep up with the latest websites, much less the newest social-networking tools. But when it comes to sharing videos of your travels, there are some unique and innovative tools out there.

Two programs called Meerkat and Periscope will actually let you stream live video directly to your Twitter followers. The video doesn’t stay up forever, but it’s a good way to capture what’s happening in the moment and then share that information.

Instagram, which started as a photo-sharing tool, also allows you to share recorded videos. So you can capture the video with your smartphone, add a filter if you’d like, and share it with your followers.

The catch is that these videos can only be 3 to 15 seconds long, but for most social-media users, that’s long enough.

If you want to keep a more permanent log of your videos, your best move is uploading to YouTube or Vimeo for longer-term storage and organization. Then you can share the links with your friends or even embed those videos on your personal blog.
