Travel Tip: New Cars Designed to Be Safer, Even Drive Themselves
It seems like automobiles keep getting smarter, and there’s some new technology that you definitely won’t want to miss.
Of course, driverless cars are the biggest topic these days. In fact, just recently a driverless Audi took a cross-country trip from California to New York.
Don’t worry, someone was in the car to keep an eye on things.
Major manufacturers like Mercedes and BMW are already developing self-driving cars, and Tesla has announced its AutoPilot feature, which is more like auto-steering than auto-driving.
Not everyone is a fan of the new technology in Ford’s S-Max. The Speed Limiter scans highway road signs and controls your speed by limiting how much fuel goes to your engine. It’s sort of like cruise control, but it actually keeps you from accelerating above a certain speed.
Of course, features that once seemed like they were out of a sci-fi movie are now becoming commonplace. Lane-change assistance and autonomous parking are two major safety advancements that aren’t just helpful, they can be lifesaving.
