Travel Tip: How You Can Save on Spring Skiing

skiWe’re coming up on the very end of ski season, which means that there are deals if you jump on them right now.

The trick to spring skiing is to look for resorts that have longer seasons. A typical resort closes around April 15, but depending on the weather and snowmaking equipment, a few resorts have great terrain well into warmer months.

In Vermont, Killington Ski Resort has a spring pass that gets you unlimited skiing between now and the end of the season. If history is any predictor, that can be as late as June!

The pass is $200, which is a significant discount from a full-season pass that costs over $1,000.

Timberline Lodge in Oregon’s Mount Hood has a spring pass that’s valid every day through May 25. It’s only $99, which essentially pays for itself in two days.

Snowbird Resort, which has one of the longest seasons in Utah, has an unlimited tram and chair pass from $329 per person. Compare that to a full-season pass which costs about $1,200.
