Travel Tip: New All-Business Class Airlines

Locations in this article:  London, England Paris, France

compagnieHow about flying on an all-business class airline? No, we’re not talking about a private jet or charter. These are regularly scheduled commercial airlines that only have one class of service.

The French airline La Compagnie has been operating between Paris and Newark since last summer. This April, it will launch a new route between London Luton Airport and Newark.

If you jump on the introductory fares, you can expect to pay as low as $1,000 each way, which is substantially less than the price of a traditional business class seat.

British Airways has its own all-business class airline called Club World London City. It only flies between London City and JFK, and comes with a lot of perks: only 32 lie-flat seats, power ports, and Wi-Fi, for starters.

Now, it’s time for some history. Do any of you recognize the names MaxJet or SilverJet? Maybe not. Those were also transatlantic, business-only airlines that began service in 2003 and 2004 respectively, but failed due to a combination of sluggish growth and escalated fuel prices.

So keep watching this space to see what happens next.
