Costa Rica and coffee are practically synonymous. The climate is ripe for growing coffee beans, with major corporate coffee plantations located all around the island. Sure, you can get good cup of coffee from one of these growers, but why not go for a great cup instead?
For those willing to go a little out of the way, Costa Rica holds fresh, organically produced coffee from independent growers. Just 20 miles outside of San Jose, about an hour drive, you’ll fine El Toledo Coffee. This family owned and operated coffee bean farm is now in its third generation of farmers.
With more than 80 years of experience, these growers know their coffee. This generation, they’ve switched to being an all-organic coffee, which has produced some delicious results.
