Outdoor adventurers need to look no further than Anchorage, Alaska. Built on a fjord and packed with inlets and lakes, it’s no wonder water sports are so popular here. But don’t worry about being trapped on a tiny lake surrounded by hundreds of people. Wake up a little early, head to the secluded Lake Eklutna and you are likely to be one of the only people there for miles.
Once on the lake you can enjoy one of the best sports Alaska has to offer, kayaking! After enjoying that outdoor adventure, don’t forget to find a creative way down the mountain. As you head through Chugash State Park, the northern most rainforest in America, you’ll find a few other sports to try. Ride down the trail on a mountain bike or, for something different, jump onto an ATV.
