Today is National Public Lands Day and national parks across the country are hosting projects to rejuvenate public parks and forests. Projects range from planting trees to cleaning up hiking trails. All volunteers will be compensated with a free one-day pass to any national park. Take a look at ten ways you can help on National Public Lands Day.
1. Give Yosemite a Facelift
Join the Yosemite Climbing Association in their Yosemite Facelift project. The park is welcoming more than 1,000 volunteers to improve to quality of the park. Volunteers can expect to be cleaning up debris and trash. Some may also be removing old asphalt and helping to restore climbing areas.
