Complete Snow Report & Deals for the 2013 US Ski Season

Currently, the base snowfall is 20 inches with 50 inches on the year. There are nine groomed runs and 13 open run. Five lifts are operating with one park open.

Plan your trip now and you can see Santa Clause come down the town lift on Saturday December 15. He’ll lead the Resort’s torchlight parade on Christmas Eve. With cookies and hot chocolate abound, he’ll visit with guests starting at 5:30. All events are open to the public and best of all, night skiing and snowboarding starts Christmas night. Colorado Ski includes the Araparo Basin, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountains, Buttermilk, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, Eldora, Howelsen, Loveland, Monarch,Powderhorn, Purgatory, Silverton, Ski Cooper, Ski Granby Ranch, Snowmass, Steamboat, Sunlight, Telluride, Winter Park, Wolf Creek. The Colorado ski season started with Arapahoe Basin on October 17. As of now there are 13 resorts open for the season and all are expected to be open by Christmas. Beginner terrain is open at nearly every resort.

This past weekend’s snow storm left Colorado Ski Country with the fresh powder skiers and snowboarders have been waiting for, giving resorts in Aspen and Winter Park more than a foot.

For those resorts still closed, here’s the latest update on tentative opening dates:

Aspen Highlands: December 21, 2012
Buttermilk: December 15, 2012
Powderhorn: December 13, 2012
Silverton Mountain: December 15, 2012

Purgatory the mid-mountain snow depth is 10 inches. Surface conditions are packed powder and man-made. Aspen/ Snowmass have better news with 20 inches mid-mountain depth with man-made terrain conditions.

Crested Butte Resort opened for business November 21. Currently the mountain has 21 inches of packed powder snow fall. Four lifts are open and twenty percent of beginner and intermediate trails are open. That’s eight trails worth of skiing.

At Crested Butte, lift tickets are $12 on 12/12/12. That might be catchy, another interesting deals is a joint venture Ultimate 6 Pass Telluride/ Crested Butte. For $67 per day you can get three days of skiing at each resort. This is a limited time offer through December 15.
