The weather is finally warming up, so it’s time to break free from the hotel gym and find new ways to work out this summer.

One problem with working out on the road is finding space to pack sneakers and exercise clothes. Westin hotels has a solution for that. Several properties in the chain lets you borrow New Balance sneakers and workout gear during your stay.

Of course, hotel staff can tell you where to run, but if you’re one of those who doesn’t like to go alone, there are resources out there.

One option is to connect with a group of local runners. Try the regional branch of the Road Runners club to find out where they’re meeting next.

Active.com has a listing of 5ks and other races up happening every weekend nationwide. And the USA Track and Field website has a searchable database for running routes.

And don’t forget, this is one of those hobbies that you can combine with sightseeing. City Running Tours has social runs lead by guides in cities across the country.

Options include a Sourdough bakery run in San Francisco, a beer run in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and a White House and Washington Mall 10k.
