Bag the Beaches & Hit the Slopes!

Spring break doesn’t have to be just about beaches. The Rockies have recently been walloped with a record-breaking series of snowstorms in February. Plus, it’s much warmer (i.e. enjoyable) to ski in March and April then in high holiday season. Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines all fly into Denver and also offer vacation packages. Also, check Colorado Ski for snow reports and summary of deals at all mountains.

Poshbrood Tip: We love Snowmass because of their family-friendly activities, lodging, ski school and daycare at the Treehouse at Snowmass’ Base Village.

Get Your Glamp On!

“Glamping” — or camping for the glamorous — is a popular travel trend and a compromise for many couples (cough, cough) where the one partner prefers The Four Seasons and the other wants to sleep under the stars and chop wood. This is a fabulous option for families (our three girls LOVE to camp but also appreciate a comfy bed and a non-communal shower). Glamping can be comfortable camping or extremely luxe.

For more nature and less glam, head north to Yosemite’s Curry Village in northern California. Its lodgings are raised tents – like camp bunks – with cots inside and bear-proof containers for your food outside. Bathrooms and showers are communal.

For a boutique glamping experience try El Capitan Canyon North of Santa Barbara where guests can enjoy services and amenities typically found in a traditional resort. They call it minimalism without deprivation. For the poshest camp experience, it’s The Ranch at Rock Creek, a luxury guest ranch that brings together upscale amenities and wide-open spaces like never before. Set among 10 square miles of rugged Montana ranchland, guests experience limitless outdoor recreational opportunities, luxury accommodations, fine cuisine, and a full-service spa. Giddy up!

Poshbrood Tip: The French love to“glamp”and have many, many chic lodging options that would offset the costly international airfare. Check out Go Glamping for its exhaustive list of French options. Also visit Glamping Hub for more research.
