This week Peter offers advice on summer in Mexico, seeing Lisbon in a day and Italian hot spots.

Ronny in Bel Air, California emailed: I’m traveling to Portugal, Madeira. My time in Lisbon is limited. I’ll essentially have the afternoon and evening to see the city. Do you recommend that I stay in a hotel near the airport or can I stay in the city center?

Peter replied: Lisbon’s airport is only 15 minutes out of town, so you can stay in the center of the city or if you want to stay near the airport you know you’re not going to get stuck with an expensive cab ride. Either way, I’m going to tell you where to go. Lisbon has one of my favorite restaurants in the world, it’s called Pap’Açôrda. It’s in Cais do Sodré and most cab drivers have no idea where it is, so get them to take you there with a map from your hotel. And leave room for dessert. I’m not kidding. It’s chocolate mouse served in a huge bowl, and they give you a full plate and you serve yourself. It’s unbelievable. And every time I go there, I take my friends. They go back two or three nights in a row.

Celine tweeted: When is the weather better in Cancun or Cozumel, June or July?

Peter Replied: Go in June. July and August are pretty hot months down there. They might not be intolerable, but they’re not the better months. I’m a big fan of traveling there in June. By March and April, the temperatures are already in the low 80s, but in July they are in the 90s. Plus, in June there is not too much rainfall.
