Travel Tip: How to Save Time at the Airport

Credit David Prasad

More planes are flying at full capacity, which means that airports are becoming even more crowded. Before you get stuck in another endless line, think about these time-saving measures.

Print out your boarding pass at home… why would you ever want to stand in line at a kiosk. This will save you up to 30 minutes.

Why would you check bags? First of all you have to pay the airline. Second, you can save thirty minutes of schlepping each way when you ship your bags.

Consider arriving from the departures area of the airport and departing from the arrivals section. Depending on the flow of the crowd, you’ll bypass the day’s traffic and speed out of the airport.

Don’t wait for to be assigned a security lane. Pick the shortest lane and try to move through it as efficiently as possible.
