Travel Tip: Free Trolley And Bus Tours

Locations in this article:  Fort Lauderdale, FL

Don’t get stuck paying for expensive taxis when there’s a free option to get you from point A to point B.

Several cities offer free trolley services that connect the major points that you need.

The Charlottesville trolley operates seven days a week from Downtown Transit Station between Downtown Charlottesville, the University of Virginia, and the busy commercial district known as The Corner.

The King Street Trolley in Alexandria runs the one-and-a-half miles between the King Street Metrorail Station and the Potomac River waterfront.

Park City/Summit County visitors and residents have two free options during the winter season. A daily bus runs from Old Town Transit Center to multiple stops around town, including all three ski resorts.

Also in Park City, the Historic Main Street Trolley is in service every day. Just look for the blue signs marking those bus stops and wave to the bus driver.

Fort Lauderdale’s Sun Trolley also has a system with no distinct stops; it will drop you off and pick you up where you want to go.

And in Cleveland, Ohio, there are two downtown trolley services. And the fare? It’s free…with a smile.
