Hotels That Help You Give Back

When tragedy or disaster strikes, it’s often a call to action to get out your wallet and contribute to a good cause. But what if you could help make a difference through your travels?

One way to go about it is to find out if your hotel donates proceeds to a good cause.

Until June 20, Marriott Resorts Hawaii has package in which guests book five nights or more, and the hotel will donate the price of a night’s stay to one of three charities.

And at Boston’s Liberty Hotel, a new package includes an overnight stay, breakfast and a signed basketball from Celtics player Paul Pierce, with proceeds going toward his charity to battle childhood obesity.

Or find out if your hotel has partnerships with local charities…

Ritz-Carlton’s Give Back Getaways is a great model of how guests can engage in local communities.

In Naples, Florida, for example, Ritz-Carlton guests can donate money to the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge, and in return, get a personal tour of the facilities.

With Kimpton’s InTouch program, guests can donate money to Doctors without Borders in return for a bonus credit that can used toward a free stay.

Remember, every little bit helps.

You don’t have to travel across the world or donate a fortune to make a difference!
