Times Square Bombing Suspect Taken Into Custody
Authorities pulled off an eleventh-hour arrest of a Pakistan-born U.S. citizen accused of planting a car bomb in Times Square.
Bombing suspect Faisal Shahzad was on board a Dubai-bound plane at John F. Kennedy International Airport when FBI agents and New York Police Department detectives forced the plane back to the gate.
Shahzad was taken into custody late Monday, but his arrest has brought scrutiny to the federal airline screening process and holes in terrorist watch lists.
On the CBS Early Show Tuesday morning, Peter discussed the process authorities might have used to find Shahzad despite his absence on watch lists. He also gives his analysis on what might have taken authorities so long to make the arrest.
