Out of This World Travel Experiences

Are you an outer space geek? Well, you’re in luck, there are plenty of ways to find “out of this world” experiences on your travels.

If you have a passing interest in the stars, Hawaii is one of the best places to view the night sky.

Star Gaze Hawaii offers guided experiences using powerful telescopes.

Their one-hour lessons are available at several resorts along the Kohala Coast including the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort and the Fairmont Orchid Hotel.

If you want to hang with other space geeks, how about a cruise?

The Astronomy Society of the Pacific is hosting a Solar Eclipse cruise in July.

They’ll sail to the South Pacific in time to view the complete eclipse, with guest lecturers like the editor of Astronomy magazine and a pro sky photographer.

Or why not go old-school with space camp?

The U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama offers a week-long program that gives earthbound people access to extraordinary experiences—like a micro-gravity chair and a mock International Space Station.

And if you’re REALLY serious about going into outer space, well, Virgin Galactic is currently taking deposits.

Tickets are only $200,000 per person, and are available through Virgin Galactic or through accredited agents with the Virtuoso network.
