If your goal is to stay or get fit on the road, it helps when your hotel gets involved. Here are a few hotels that are going above and beyond the traditional workout room.

Face it, how many of us end up leaving the sneakers at home to save on suitcase space?

Several Fairmont hotels are offering the Fairmont Fit program for loyalty club members.

The hotel can deliver workout clothes and sneakers, an MP3 player and even some workout equipment right your room.

The New York Palace in Midtown Manhattan has a similar program, where guests can take advantage of free exercise clothes and cross-training sneakers.

Starwood’s Aloft hotels offers free workout videos that you can download onto your handheld video device, like an iPod or Blackberry.

You can even hook up your device to the TV in your room, so you can follow the workout on a big screen.

At Park Hyatt properties, a new program means guests can borrow free bicycles in four-hour increments, along with items like bicycle helmets, locks and maps of the area.

And at many Westin hotels, there’s an actual “running concierge” on staff.

These guys take guests out on guided runs through the city.

If you prefer to go solo, the hotel can provide downloadable running maps of the area and information on local running groups.
