With the current state of the economy, this year’s Museum Day is expected to make a big difference for those who would otherwise be deterred by admission prices.

The National Park Service encourages visitors to participate in hands-on volunteer programs on this annual event, and is also promoting the premiere of Ken Burns’ documentary, The National Parks: America’s Best Idea premiering the next night on PBS.
