Child Proof Hotel Rooms on Your Next Travel Vacation

If you’ve traveled with small kids, you know what a nightmare it can be to stay in a non-child-proof hotel room. Here’s how you can make sure that your kids are protected.

The Nickelodeon Family Suites chain will actually provide child-proofing kits upon request.

You can also buy child-proofing kits from companies like Safety First which include doorknob covers and electrical protectors.

Or at the very least, always pack a roll of duct tape you can use it to tape down any loose cords and cover up all those electrical outlets and sharp table corners.

Next, you need to literally get down on your hands and knees in your hotel room and figure out what’s within easy reach of your kids.

And last but not least, beware of hotel balconies.

While the railings may be high enough to prevent a child from leaning or falling over, the real danger is the space between the iron bars or wooden slats.

The solution is to tape some mesh around the bars or simply lock the door to the balcony.
