The Web site Travelmuse.com lets you plug in information like when you want to travel, how long you’re willing to fly, your budget, and what kind of activities you’re looking for.

From that it generates a list of possible destinations and experiences. Once you decide on your trip you can find travel guides and tips from other travelers, and even book your trip all in the same place.

TripBase.com is a similar type of travel inspiration site. It has fewer activities to choose from, but the bonus here is that you can choose whether you’d rather fly or drive to your destination.

And if you’re looking for specific events to inspire your travels, then check out the site WhatsOnWhere.com. Just click on what type of activity you’re interested in, and it generates a calendar of events.

And last but not least, don’t forget about Google Earth.
