You might remember the old days when you used a Eurail pass to visit 15 countries in 15 days. But if you plan it right, you can actually use a train pass so you can save while traveling in just one country.
You can buy a Eurail pass for one country at a time.
For example, the Eurail Italy Pass starts a $240 to travel first class over three days within a two-month period.
So the longer you travel, the more you’ll save.
Then there is a new rail pass that’s called Anytime, Anywhere France, it starts at about $199 for the first trip and $50 for each additional one-way segment.
You can even find similar deals here in the U.S.
Amtrak has a very cool and not very well advertised program that lets you travel the country for a flat fee.
A 15-day pass lets you travel in eight separate segments and costs $389.
So, if you plan carefully, a rail pass can give you an all-access view of one country at a time, even our own.
