Travel Tip: Dealing with Noisy Kids on Planes

Crying KidDo you hate dealing with nosy kids on planes? Here’s how you can have some peace and quiet next time you fly.

To avoid traveling with screaming kids, try taking the first flight of the day.

When you think about it, parents often can’t get their children fed, dressed and ready in time to catch that early-morning flight.

Try to snag a seat in the exit row of the aircraft, where children under 15 definitely aren’t allowed.

And then it’s time for some common sense: there’s not much you can do about a crying baby, but if someone’s child is kicking the back of your seat, say something to the parents.

And don’t be afraid to get up and move seats, or even ask the flight attendant for an upgrade.

If all else fails, consider buying noise canceling or blocking headphones to drown out the sounds.
