Peter’s broadcasting live from Ballantyne Resort Hotel and Spa in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Peter will be joined by Charlotte Mayor Patrick McCrory who will share the stories of his favorite city.

Winston Kelley, executive director of the highly anticipated NASCAR Hall of Fame will call in from the Talledega Superspeedway to talk about the history of NASCAR in Charlotte, and the Hall of Fame that is scheduled to open in 2010.

Marcus Eriksen, director of research and education for the Algalita Marine Research Foundation has been studying the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a “plastic soup” of garbage in the Pacific Ocean. He’ll talk about his new project, Message in a Bottle, which involves sailing to the garbage patch on a raft made of junk.

Peter will check in with Paul Goldberger, architecture critic for The New Yorker, about his latest column, “Situation Terminal: can anyone design a nice airport?”

Acclaimed travel writer Pico Iyer will chat with Peter about his latest book, The Open Road: The Global Journey of the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, based on his 30-year friendship with the spiritual leader.

And he’ll chat with Mike Boyd, president and owner of Boyd Aviation Group, an aviation consulting, research and forecasting company, about the state of the airlines today.
