Skin Cancer and Driving

If you like taking long car trips, or even if you have a long commute, you should know that driving has now been linked to skin cancer.

So how are driving and skin cancer linked?

A recent study by researchers at Saint Louis University discovered more instances of skin cancer on the left side of the body than the right.

The reason? Your left side is more exposed to the sun when you drive.

And men, who tend to drive more, were especially vulnerable according to the study.

So on longer drives, make sure to use sunscreen with a high SPF.

And don’t forget to re-apply it as necessary.

Alternately, wearing long sleeves will keep the sun off your skin.

And don’t forget pants—your knees and thighs are exposed to almost as much sun as your arms are when you drive, so be sure to protect them, too.
