If you’re interested in seeing a whole country or taking a trip around a particular region, you might be able to save a lot of money with something called a flight pass. Flight passes, or air passes, allow you to take a limited number of flights within a given period, all for a flat fee.

For instance, Air Canada’s Flight Passes allow you to buy multiple tickets in advance, with the option of either 10 or 20 flight credits for use over a 12-month period. Your choices include Eastern, Western, North America, and Canada Passes, for anywhere from $1,990 to $13,980.

Cathay Pacific is offering a 2007 All-Asia Pass, with which you can travel to 23 cities around Asia within 21 days for $1,599. Qantas has an Aussie AirPass starting at $1,099, which includes roundtrip airfare to Australia plus three stops within Australia. So if you’re planning on traveling a lot in a certain region, flight passes could make a lot of financial sense.
