Travel Tip: New Deals for Booking a Hotel Room by the Hour
Are you trying to book a hotel room?
Rather than looking at the day you want, you might want to look at a specific time window instead.
There are now apps and services that allow you to book hotels for specific time periods in a 24-hour cycle.
Hotels By Day lets you reserve rooms in four to nine-hour blocks, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and these hotels are in U.S. and Canadian cities.
Five daytime hours in a New York hotel costs $125 versus three times that amount for a regular stay.
Recharge makes last minute reservations for three and four-star hotel rooms available for 66 cents a minute (about $40 an hour).
If you’re on business and need a meeting room, this is the way to go.
Or, if you need a change of clothes and a shower, it also makes economic sense.
