Are you thinking of renting a vacation property this year?

Lots of people do—it’s a $100 billion industry and is often a viable alternative to hotels.

But before you agree to any deal, there are some questions you should ask.

Number one: what is the cancellation policy?

What large and small appliances are included in the rental? Are pets allowed on the premises?

Are they providing enough bed linens and towels?

Then there are little things that people often forget.

Is there an alarm clock in the bedroom? Is there a hair dryer? Where’s the nearest laundry?

My favorite question, since we don’t really change our lifestyle when we change our location: is there WiFi? Cable?

One question almost everyone forgets to ask: How accessible is the rental property and are stairs required to enter?

These are all important questions you need to ask before agreeing to the deal.
