You probably have a list of places you love to visit, or destinations that make you happy.
Now there’s a list of of the happiest states, thanks to the research of personal finance site WalletHub.
Its in-depth analysis compared all 50 states—including the District of Columbia—across 28 separate metrics, ranging from the emotional health of a state to employment levels and which state has the most heart attacks.
The winners?
1. Utah
2. Minnesota
3. North Dakota
4. Hawaii
5. Colorado
You can see how the rest of the country was ranked:
Hawaii also has the lowest depression rate. It is 2.2 times lower than Oregon, which has the highest depression rate.
North Dakota has the lowest long-term unemployment rate, while the District of Columbia has the highest.
Utah has the lowest rate of heart attacks while West Virginia has the highest.
I don’t know if it’s related, but Utah also has the lowest divorce rate.
