Before you take your next trip, it might help to know the world’s most expensive cities.

Thanks to The Economist, the results are in.

Are you traveling to Los Angeles? Well, you better fasten your seat belt—and your wallet.

It’s now ranked as the tenth most expensive city in the world.

Number nine is a surprise—Seoul, Korea.

Here’s an example for frame of reference: a loaf of bread will cost you more than $12.

Copenhagen is no bargain. Gas prices in the Danish capital are twice as much as New York.

London makes the list again this year, where even a ride on public transportation will run you nearly $7.

Rounding out the list: Hong Kong, Zurich, Singapore, and New York.

Now you’ve been warned, so you can at least try to budget accordingly.
