Travel Tip: Hotels Using Scents in Lobbies & Guest Rooms

hotel2More and more hotels are trying to improve the feel by scenting them.

The hotels are pumping floral, minty, woodsy, and vanilla fragrances into their lobbies, guest rooms, and even the elevators.

But sometimes that can backfire. The scents can often be overpowering.

Or, if guests have allergies, they can be dangerous.

It creates a similar problem for hotels and their guests at some pet-friendly locations.

While some hotels can offer pet-free floors, hotel ventilation systems offer no protection for guests with allergies. The scent is literally everywhere.

So always ask ahead of time if the hotel is scenting its rooms, and maybe even ask what flavor.

It may have nothing to do with allergies—you might just detest a particular smell.
