Travel Tip: The Perks of Flying Economy

Locations in this article:  Toronto, Canada

seatsIf you’re flying economy, there are still some airline perks that haven’t been taken away from us.

Flying Virgin Atlantic to Europe? You’ll still get free drinks and kids under 12 eat for free.

On Japan Airlines, every passenger receives slippers. On a number of its flights, free toothbrushes and toothpaste are distributed.

If you’re flying on JetBlue, you can still check your email for free and get DirecTV.

Ever hear of Porter Airlines? The Canadian carrier flies from the U.S. to Toronto and other cities up north.

The wine, beer, and snacks are free. Even its terminal lounges are open to all passengers with free Wi-Fi.

On international flights, United is also offering free wine and beer for economy class. United is playing catch up with American, which quietly resumed offering beer and wine back in 2012—but only on its international routes.

Delta even offers something called the Delta Studio—free movies, music, and TV. How about more space in economy? Not really, but enjoy your wine.
